    not really, china is much less dense populated than Japan. the population density of japan is several times more than china.

    It will take at least 2 years to finish that rail way, damn it, it is a bloody 12 hundred kilometers of high speed rail that they just started building mid 2008! lol, I doubt it would be ready before the world EXPO.

    not that dense like tokyo, much spacious for individuals but higher densified than other cities in China

    Shanghai is like Tokyo. So yes it is overpopulated, but that is just the fun of it. All the people.

    Nothing is provided. They were bought with money and license. The Japanese shinkansen are not the only ones in operation. The Chinese also bought the Velaro from Germany and the Pendolino from Italy.

    But made in China, with licensing from Kawasaki Heavy Industry. Indigenous high speed train project suspended 7 years ago due to life long cost undermined by reliability of bodgie though finished product had been in use

    Cost: $45 / D31 hard sleeper (leg room like biz class on a plane)
    $54 / soft sleeper (4 beds in a room)
    Trip Length: apprx 10 hours
